Control from anywhere
Heat on before you're off the hill. Phone app or web dashboard over 4G (LTE‑M / NB‑IoT), with no WiFi needed at the vehicle.
SmartConnect · in development · coming soon
SmartConnect puts your Autoterm or Planar diesel heater in your pocket. Start it from the trailhead, the slopes or the sofa, over 4G, no campsite WiFi needed, and no walking back to a cold van.
One email when we launch, and nothing else.
You're on the list. We'll wake you when it's warm.
Most van conversions already carry an Autoterm or Planar diesel air heater: reliable, efficient, and controlled by a small panel bolted to the wall. SmartConnect installs inline between that heater and its panel, or replaces the panel outright, and hands control to your phone.
Fit it once and the heater answers to you: switch it on for the drive back from a day on the hill, nudge the set-point from your sleeping bag, or check it's still running from three fields, or three countries, away.
It detects which install you've chosen (pass-through or panel replace) and configures itself.

Campsite WiFi, an onboard router or a Starlink dish: if your van has internet, SmartConnect uses it. Nowhere to be found, it's already on 4G.
Heater state, cabin temperature and battery voltage stream to the app in real time. It's a live connection to the heater, not a status you send a text message to fetch.
Universal 12 V / 24 V, surge and load-dump protected, in an IP44-sealed enclosure that shrugs off a bumpy track. When cabin temperature nears freezing, SmartConnect can start the heater automatically, protecting your water system and pipework from a winter freeze-up.
The SmartConnect app puts it all on one screen: whether the heater is running, the cabin temperature you have and the one you want, heater outlet temperature and battery voltage. Nudge the set-point from your sleeping bag, set a schedule so it's already warm when you wake, or check in from the summit.

Yes. SmartConnect connects your Autoterm or Planar heater to 4G, so you can start it, change the set-point or check it's running from anywhere you've got a phone signal: the pub, the chairlift, the supermarket car park. No need to be within WiFi or Bluetooth range of the van.
SmartConnect is launching with support for the core Autoterm and Planar diesel air heater range, the models fitted in the vast majority of UK campervan conversions, with broader model coverage added through over-the-air updates. It installs inline between the heater and its existing control panel, or replaces the panel outright. It auto-detects which and configures itself.
No. If your van already has internet (campsite WiFi, an onboard router or a Starlink dish), SmartConnect uses that first. Where there's no WiFi at all, it falls back to 4G cellular (LTE-M / NB-IoT) automatically, so control never depends on a campsite connection you can't rely on.
Yes, over 4G, WiFi or Bluetooth. Unlike GSM modem options that work by sending the heater a text message and waiting, SmartConnect keeps a live connection: the app shows cabin temperature, battery voltage and heater state in real time, not a status you have to text in and hope for.
That's the main reason to fit one. Start the heater on the walk back from the hike, the slopes or the beach, and the cabin's warm by the time you open the sliding door: no more standing in the cold waiting for a diesel heater to catch up.
SmartConnect is deep in development. Leave your email and you'll hear the moment it's ready to order, along with early-bird pricing for the first production run.
